ENG322 Computational Text Analysis
Course Aims This course introduces students to digital humanities methodologies for the study of text. Students will learn how to use corpus linguistic techniques to retrieve occurrences of words, find similar passages across texts, and analyse literary style. The course will highlight how these digital approaches to text open up new avenues of research, for example, tracing intellectual influence over time, or uncovering and distinguishing stylistic features of an author, work, or literary movement. The course brings together linguistics and literary studies using digital technology.
