ENG321 Literature, Film and Society
Course Aims Film and literature are entertainment as much as texts conveying controversies. In this course, students will discuss how these two genres are used to shape or interrogate our common sense. Class, race, gender, and identity are some of the key notions which students will use to analyze film and literature across different cultures. Students are encouraged to inquire if our “common sense” is in fact a social construction and discuss how film and literature are used to propel change(s).
