Congratulations to Alisa on completing her MPhil Viva Exam!
 
We are delighted to celebrate the achievement of QI Mengyao (Alisa), a second-year MPhil candidate in the Department of English Language and Literature under the supervision of Dr. Kacey Liu, who has successfully passed her viva examination. 
 
 
Her thesis, entitled “Power Dynamics in Collaborative Translation: A Re-examination of Chen Shoupeng and Xue Shaohui’s Translation of Around the World in Eighty Days,” offers new insights into Chinese translation history by re-evaluating the roles of Chen Shoupeng and Xue Shaohui and exploring how social, cultural, and gender factors shaped their collaborative translation process.
