We are pleased to share the highlights of our recent Noon Research Forum, where we hosted the latest research presentations.Our featured speakers are:
• Dr. Michelle Chan "Reviving the Past: Neo-Victorian representations of Charles Dickens"
• Dr. Marjorie Cheung "New age healing and the language of (Pseudo)science: A rhetorical case study of the works of Joe Dispenza".
• Miss Jamie Tse "Appraisal Evaluation in Online Customer Reviews - Ocean Park Hong Kong".
• Miss Yolanda Guan "A Diachronic Corpus-Based Analysis of COVID-19 Metaphors, Topic Modeling and Sentiment Analysis in Media Discourse: A Case Study of Hong Kong".
In addition, Dr. Michelle Chan provided practical steps and advice on how to apply for postgraduate studies in our department.
The forum provided light refreshments and snacks in a Halloween theme. At the end of the event, Dr. Rebekah Bale and Dr. Jenny Wan held a lucky draw to reward some enthusiastic participants who had been particularly attentive throughout the seminar.
In an engaging atmosphere, our teachers and students enjoyed a wonderful time of learning and sharing.
