From 25-27 June 2026, our MPhil student Alisa participated in the New Research in Translation and Interpreting Studies (NRTIS) 2026 Conference, held at Campus Catalunya of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Spain.
The NRTIS 2026 Conference was organized by the Intercultural Studies Group at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, a research centre with a strong profile in Translation and Interpreting Studies. As the eighth edition of the NRTIS series, the conference reflects the event’s continuity and its sustained contribution to advancing research in the field.
With financial support from the University Conference Grants (UCG) scheme, Alisa attended the conference and delivered a presentation entitled “Power Dynamics in Collaborative Translation: A Re-examination of Chen Shoupeng and Xue Shaohui’s Translation of Around the World in Eighty Days.” The presentation was based on research conducted as part of her MPhil thesis under the supervision of Dr. Kacey LIU.
The conference provided an excellent platform for our postgraduate student to exchange ideas, engage with current research, and connect with academics from around the world.
